Brent was happier than he had been in a long, long while. He had a... boyfriend? A something? Okay, Brent didn't know what exactly Chase was to him at the moment, he was just his Chase. And he had Bree back as well. His life was actually starting to look up again and he had the slightest bit of hope that he could move on and leave his past behind. Not all at once though, it was going to take time. Even more if it.
Currently, the Demon was sat on his coffee table with his guitar, in the middle of composing a song. It was pretty close to being finished now though. It was one of those songs that he personally felt very attached to, like it meant an awful lot to him. The lyrics weren't just carelessly written and thrown together to some random tune. They had come easily to Brent but still held a lot of meaning to him. He actually felt a little overcome by all the emotions this one song was bringing on.
"They say the Devil's water, it ain't so sweet You don't have to drink right now But you can dip your feet Every once in a little while..."

Amy wasn't surprised when she saw Brent relaxing in his house, playing his guitar; he'd always been relaxed, and has always loved that instrument. Nor did it particularly surprise her that he was smiling; it had been over half a year, and he was guaranteed for have got over her supposed 'death'. No, what angered her was that there were no pictures of her anywhere, nothing that showed she had ever existed. Amy could see through the window that there were other pictures, of people she vaguely recognised, people like Bree, but none of her or his son- their son. It was as if he never knew her.
Pulling The Doctor out of her jacket, she gripped the handle hard enough to turn her knuckles white. She at least needed to say hello. For manner's sake. Just to be polite. She stared at the pistol; 6 months of practising had left her being able to aim with one eye shut. She didn’t want to risk that today, though. Silently, Amy aimed at the window. Making sure she was going to shoot at the precise point she needed to, she placed one finger on the trigger, and shot. "Hello, sweetie!" she called, her voice hollow.

The Demon continued with his song, feeling proud of himself for coming up with something that just felt so close to him. That was really the only way he could describe it. Brent had always had a close connection with his music though, otherwise what was the point in him writing it in the first place or even bothering to play it? It was moments like this in which he really felt okay and he could forgot everything else running through his mind.
So, of course, it wasn't going to last long.
A gunshot almost caused Brent to fall off his table but he soon steadied himself even if he was very much unnerved by the fact he'd just narrowly avoided being shot. And... what? Just... what? Brent was left feeling one hundred percent confused and utterly unsure of what was going on. Because this really was far from normal, even for him.
That voice... it couldn't be. Brent was suddenly wondering if he was dreaming right now because nothing about this seemed right. No. This was wrong. Totally wrong. Because if he was seeing who he thought he was seeing stood outside his window then... oh God. He'd gotten past this! He'd gotten over the worst hallucinations months ago! Why would they suddenly come back? It didn't make sense.
His whole body trembling, Brent placed down his guitar and scrambled to his feet. She was still there. He could still see his dead wife stood there staring at him and Brent's mind was no longer calm. It was hysterical. He was hysterical. He was laughing, not a quiet chuckle, properly laughter. Loud, mad laughter you would expect from someone locked away in a mental institution. Brent didn't believe what he was seeing, he just couldn't. He'd finally lost his mind entirely.
Brent fell backwards onto his sofa, laughing so hard that he was crying by this point. He didn't care, he was bonkers! What mattered now? "G-god... and I'd almost... I'd almost convinced myself I was sane!"

Amy almost felt sorry for Brent, as he sat there in disbelief. Almost. She glanced at Brent’s beloved guitar that had been discarded on the floor, forgotten. A look that couldn't be discerned fitted across her face, and then was gone.
As Amy climbed in through the frame, she was careful not to catch her jacket on the remainder of the window. Shards of the glass broke under her feet. She straightened up, brushing imaginary dust off her shoulders with a casual hand. She glanced up at Brent’s face, still frozen in a look of shock- and horror.
A grin broke out across her face, despite her attempts to hold it in. "So, Brent.", she enunciated, "We meet again." Amy hadn't forgotten about The Doctor, which she still held in her right hand; her fingers curled around the handle once more.
Slowly, almost casually, Amy raised her arm, pointing it straight at Brent. She stood there for a several moments, her arm trembling, and a single tear ran down her cheek. Her arm lowered, slowly, with jolting movements. "I can't do it.", she murmured, placing the gun on the mahogany coffee table where Brent had once been sat. Kneeling down on the floor, she cried, "Why can't I do it? Why?" Then more tears came.

Amy was dead. Of course she was dead. There was no way that she was actually here so, he had to be hallucinating right now. Or dreaming or just... something. Because there was no way that she was here. The worst thing was that there was absolutely no reason for him to be hallucinating and that he was almost certain he'd just been wide awake. Brent's head had been known to do strange things though.
Brent didn't give a damn about the gun being pointed right at him. It wasn't real! He'd learnt that by now! She was going to shoot and Brent was meant to scream and think he was bleeding but, no, he just laughed harder. And then he didn't get shot. Which just proved his point that this wasn't real or he would've been shot, right? But since he hadn't believed it was real, he didn't get shot.
His laughter had calmed a little, but Brent carried on chuckling a little. Tears kept flowing down his cheeks, and he didn't even understand why. It was just completely fucked up. He was winning. "Because you're not reaaaal." he taunted her, grinning madly, "You're nothing. Nothing!"

Why wasn't Brent able to see? Of course she was real. He may believe she was an apparition, but she'd show him. Amy wasn't sure quite why she needed Brent to believe in her, but she did. She took a deep breath and tried stubbornly to gain some composure, a feat hard to accomplish as she was sprawled over the carpet.
"Your'e an idiot, Brent. Of course I'm real." She stood u, and fiercely wiped the remainder of the tears from her face. Swiftly, she swiped her pistol from the coffee table, tucking it in her back pocket.
"I don't even.. I don't have a clue why I came here." And she didn't, for what had she been trying to gain? She should have been able to tell that she wouldn't have been able to kill him, if that had been her intention; but if it had been, it was masked, even to her. "Maybe you're right; maybe I am nothing. But right now, I don't care about your opinion. I've got nothing to say to you, Brent. I'll be going now, unless you have any complaints. I've got a baby to look after, and I wouldn't want to electrocute anything expensive."
Amy glared at the television occupying the room; it was so tempting to manipulate the electricity and shock that television with a force so hard that it smoked.

'Of course I'm real.' Well, what else was Brent going to expect her to say? And his mind was obviously just making all of this up anyway, so what he was expecting would happen for certain. Amy was dead. Everyone knew she was dead. It was his fault, of course he was going to still be hung up over it.
"To haunt me? Because I'm really scared, as you can see." Brent smirked. He was completely blinded by his belief that he'd outsmarted himself. When, in fact, he was actually being even more stupid than usual. But wait... she had a baby? Amy had been pregnant when she died... she would have the baby by now. Brent was starting to doubt himself. This almost made too much sense for Brent's messed up mind to come up with.
He was still shaking when he got to his feet. Brent had stopped laughing and crying, his face a deathly white and stained with tear-tracks. Hesitantly, he stepped forwards that shoved Amy's shoulder. And... she felt real. Too real for him to be imagining.
"You're dead! You can't... you can't be here! You died. You've been dead all this time. I don't understand... this doesn't make sense!" he raised his voice suddenly, his own confusion angering him. Brent could burn her now. He remembered that this was the woman who had cheated on him. "You lied to me... when we were... together. You thought I wasn't clever enough to work out that you were lying. Well I know now!" Brent clenched his fists, fighting the urge to just burn the whole house down as he glared straight at his ex-wife.

Amy mirrored Brent, clenching her fists and narrowing her gaze. "Really, Brent? I lied to you when we were together? You don't say." She flung his hand off her shoulder and spun around, facing away.
"You think I don't regret what I did? Really, don't you? I regretted it every day. But could I have told you? No! You'd have reacted the way you are now!" Amy turned back to face him. "You know what, Brent? Burn me, go on. You think I can't see it in your eyes? Right now, I don't even care."
She paced away from him, softening her tone. "It's sad, you know? If you'd never known... If the attack had never happened, if I was still human... you'd have made a fantastic father to those children." Her tone hardened once more. "I'm glad you found out, though. It saved me the trouble of having to tell you." Static started to fizzle in Amy's hands, and she made no move to stop it.
"I hope you enjoy your new life, Brent, with your friends. I hope you enjoy your new life, the one that doesn't include me, doesn't include Rory. Because I can't see a way back."

What difference did regret make, really? Amy had still gone and fucked another guy while she'd been married to Brent, while they had a child together. "You still did it. You still went behind my back. And you still never had the fucking guts to tell me the truth." he spat at her, his disgust obvious. It still hadn't fully hit Brent that Amy was alive now and always had been, it just felt surreal. When he did try and think about it, it only ended up making his head ache.
She was just inviting him to burn her. Hadn't she learnt? Of course Brent would go ahead and do so, without hesitation. That was what he'd so badly wanted to do anyway. He felt a little embarrassed that she could tell though, was it always so obvious that he was struggling against his pyromania? He had to hope not... but that was telling him that, no, he shouldn't give into her and show how easy he was to manipulate. So, Brent held back.
"That's never going to happen now though, is it? Life isn't fair. I deal with it." Brent fought harder against the urge to set something aflame, his anger only intensifying. At the mention of Rory, Brent had had more than enough. He didn't want to think about his son. He'd rather have him back than Amy. He had sent a torrent of fire rushing towards her before he could fully process what he was doing.

Amy wasn't quite sure how she manged it. Somehow, she countered Brent's fire with a wall of water, extinguishing the fire. Just then, she'd remembered she could control the elements, now she was a demon.
"What the hell, Brent?" She shouted. "I get that you don't like me, but fireballs- isn't that too far? Not that you'd care", she muttered.
"You know, you're right. Yes, I went behind your back, and really? You think I would've told you?" She snorted. "That would have gone down brilliantly. Do you actually believe I wanted that baby? If I'd never--" She broke off, glancing at Brent. "If I'd never had that affair, things would be different."
She turned away from Brent, her voice barely audible. "can you even say his name? Rory's? You have to face that he's gone, Brent. There's not anything that can be done about it now."
She spun around, gripping his arm. "You honestly think that there isn't a day that goes by where I don't wish that Rory could have been turned into a demon, rather than me? That he'd survived, instead?"
Continuing, Amy sounded choked. "If Rory had lived, at least he'd have had someone around....t-that cared about him. I don't have that luxury."
Running one hand through her hair, she started to speak, then paused. She'd already said too much.

Brent's eyes narrowed as Amy used her new powers to extinguish his fire. No. That wasn't what was going to happen, she was going to burn. He didn't like that she was now a demon and far more powerful than she ever had been before. He could still negate her powers though, he just hadn't been prepared to do so just now. And, as a result, Brent's carpet was now drenched. Wasn't that just fucking great?
"You're right there, actually. I don't give a damn." he smiled bitterly at Amy, knowing that he could've done a lot worse. There hadn't even been that much fire! Why was she whining? Brent remembered how Amy had always been uncomfortable with how easily Brent could manipulate fire and often used it to his advantage. He'd never once used his powers against his family back then. But things were different now... and he was almost an entirely different person.
However... would things have really been that different at all if Amy had stayed faithful to him? It wouldn't have stopped her dying. It wouldn't have stopped Brent moping around by himself for all of this time. It wouldn't have stopped him developing some sort of attraction to Chase that he was still trying to figure out. Well, it would've certainly complicated that. "No." he said simply, but it was clear that he meant it, "I don't think things would've been that different at all."
Brent didn't want to face the fucking facts. He never had done, and he'd paid the price for that. "You don't think I've tried? You haven't been the one whose whole family died! Do you know what this has done to me?" Brent practically screamed, thinking that he'd definitely got the worst end of the deal here. Amy wouldn't know what it had been like for him. It had completely warped his personality. He'd changed into a demon.
"I don't want to hear whatever sob story you have lined up. Because I wish that had been the case, so, so much." he shook his head, trembling with rage. He'd get soaked in water if he tried to burn her again though... maybe even shot. Brent would have to hold back just a little longer.

Amy was startled. Things wouldn't have been different? What was he talking about? Angered, she shouted, "God, Brent! You're not the only one to lose their family, though, are you? You're not the only one to lose a son, to lose a ...partner."
Carrying on, she yelled, "I was there, Brent. You never even realized, did you? I'd just been killed. I live on your street, Brent. Your street. Couldn't have been that hard to--"
"Stop being like this, Brent. You're keen for me to think about my lies. You make it sound as if you've never done anything wrong. We both know you have."
Curling her fingers around The Doctor's handle, she said, "God, how would I know what you're going through? You think you're the only one with problems? You know nothing, do you? You're so different. Too different. What the hell did happen to you?"
Amy shook her head. Why did she even care? He should have meant nothing to her- yet he did. Why? Pulling The Doctor out of her jeans pocket, she stepped forward and pressed the pistol to Brent's head. Her arm wasn't trembling any more.
Metal conducted electricity. That was her train of thought. The gun was metal. So- she wouldn't kill him, she couldn't kill him- but she could knock him out.
"I hope you know about conductors, Brent." With her other hand, she tapped the pistol.
"You might be able to negate this energy, Brent." She said. "But I kinda doubt it."

What? She'd lived on his street? She did even now? Amy must've rarely gone out though, just like Brent, which was why they'd never seen each other around before or anyone had alerted him of her presence. "You lived just down the street from me... and still you never even thought to tell me you were alive? You never thought to tell Bree?" Okay, well, Brent hadn't told Bree that he was alive until recently either so... maybe he was being a little hypocritical there but whatever. It wasn't as if Amy knew that.
And since when did whatever stupid shit Brent had done wrong in the past really matter here? This wasn't about what he'd done wrong. "No I don't. Stop trying to turn this on me. None of this was my fault and you know it!" he glared at her. Brent then realised that Amy was still gripping onto his arm and, physically, she was stronger than him so his attempt to wrench his arm away failed at first but he soon managed to get it back. Brent was kind of a wimp.
Amy had to still think that Brent was a Fallen, of course, she probably wouldn't be able to tell that he most definitely wasn't anymore. "Well," he shrugged his shoulders, feigning nonchalance although his fury remained clear in his eyes, "maybe I'm not the only one who's a Demon now."
Now being a Demon of Wrath not a Fallen of Justice, Brent had really changed a lot but he was still as idiotic as ever. That was why Brent hadn't noticed that Amy had, very slowly, been making him walk exactly where she wanted to. He only realised when his back hit the wall with a quiet thud. By then it was too late to move, her gun was pressed to his temple. Brent wasn't bothered though. "Oh, like you'd really hurt me." he rolled his eyes, chuckling at the redhead.

Amy wished Brent would stop surprising her. He was a demon? She was aware that he had changed drastically, but...well, that sort of explained it.
"To be honest, Brent, it doesn't surprise me that much." She lied. "There's no way you're still a Fallen, that's for certain." In a strange way, she enjoyed holding the pistol to Brent's head- it gave her a certain sense of power she wasn't used to when being around Brent.
"What makes you so sure that I won't shock you, Brent?", she hissed. "Hmm?" She pressed the gun harder against his head; she wouldn't find it too hard to believe that it would leave a bruise.
"Well, Brent, I guess I'm gonna surprise you, then." She poured energy into the gun- not too much, otherwise she would end up killing him- and watched, as Brent was shocked. The electricity was just strong enough to knock him out for roughly half an hour, so she had to act quickly.
Amy went to find bedsheets. Before long, she found some, ripped them up, and tied Brent to the closest chair she could find.
"Now, Brent, we're gonna talk, okay?" She tucked The Doctor back in her pocket and sat on the arm of the sofa, waiting for him to regain consciousness. It wouldn't be too long, of that she was sure.

Brent was beginning to doubt himself as Amy applied more pressure to the gun, making him wince a little. She wouldn't really hurt him though, would she? No... she couldn't. But with the way she was hissing at him, the venom in her voice was undeniable. Amy seemed awfully serious about all of this. But if she did shock him, it wouldn't be so bad that it was life-threatening. Hopefully. "B-because you won't. It's me." he said, more to assure himself of that than anything else. His dark eyes were wide with fear, almost pleading Amy not to hurt him.
Part of him still wasn't expecting it when Amy used her gun as a sort of taser to electrocute him. Brent barely had time to register any pain, let alone scream, before he fell to the floor, knocked unconscious.
~Time Skippy~
The next thing Brent knew his head was throbbing and he was practically paralysed. When he opened his eyes, it took a few moments for them to adjust to the usual dim lighting in the room but he soon realised that he'd been tied to a chair. And Amy was still here. This was either one of those nightmares where you tried and tried but couldn't wake up, or she really was back.
Brent would've just gone ahead and started a fire in order to free himself but he'd only end up getting very seriously injured if he tried that now. If only he were stronger, he'd actually be able to break free without using any of his powers...
"Let. Me. Go." he spat at her, making a futile attempt to free himself.
