Kabu was raised on clothes donated from other countries, and would always select girls’ clothing. Now that he’s in the US, he still wears t-shirts intended for girls and jeans or shorts that typically wouldn’t be worn by boys. He always has accessories on him, be they bracelets , hairclips, necklaces, or even stick-on earrings if he’s in the mood for it. If he was having a bad day, sometimes older women in his tribe would let him use their lipstick or other make-up.

Personality;; In Limon, Kabu was a very playful child who got along with almost everybody, but now that he’s in Alderres, he is much shyer. With time, his outgoing personality will surely reemerge. He loves to goof around, and is incredibly empathetic to anyone, regardless of how well he knows them. He is prone to getting carried away on whims, and will, for instance, decide that he’s destined to a famous artist, and after splattering everything he can with paint, will find something else that he’s destined to do. He’s the same way with his romantic interests. Still immature, he cares less about the actual romance and more about the drama of it all. Kabu will find an older, strong man that he could never be with, and decides that he is passionately in love. Then, he revels in his own theatrics as he sighs and waxes poetic about his unrequited tragedy.
Kabu doesn’t like to see anyone upset ever. He’s very empathetic and will gladly inconvenience to help someone in trouble. He’s the sort of person who sees a stranger on the street that looks sad, and stops to ask them if they’re okay, and then sits on a park bench and listen to everything they have to say.

History;; Kabu, born ‘Manuel Perez’, was born to a human mother who had been impregnated by an angel. The angel had been driven off by locals who feared him, and, because her son was born of an angel and out of wedlock, they turned their fears toward his son. His mother, half Miskito Native, sent him to live with distant relatives in a tribal village just outside Limon, on the Miskito coast. Among their tribe, angelic entities were accepted and even venerated, to some extent. He was raised by his great aunt, who gave him the Miskito name ‘Kabu’ or ‘fish.’
His childhood within the community was a rather serene one, though impoverished. He was highly respected for his fishing skills, which he used to contribute food to his entire village. Among other children, he spent most of his time putting on shows with the girls and staring at the boys from afar. He always displayed feminine tendencies, but no one in the village made much out of it, since he was so well-liked. Every so often, he would have to leave the village with someone to run an errand or sell fish to nearby towns where he was easily marked as "weak" and "girly." On a few occasions, he was chased and beaten, but the other people from his tribe always found him in time.
As he grew older, it became clear that he would need training to use his powers. When he got upset, he would upset buckets of water or churn the tides, scaring the fish away. His tribe attempted to track down his father, and managed to limit their search to Alderford.
His great aunt started saving up money as soon as she took Kabu in, to send him someplace safe. She knew very little English, but taught him a bit. She had nearly saved up enough when she died. Kabu was 9. A few weeks after her funeral, he was fishing and became upset thinking about his aunt. He lost control of the water he was riding on and nearly drowned before another fisherman saved him. Afraid for Kabu’s safety, his village all pitched in to his great aunt’s fund, and arranged to have him smuggled to Alderford on a cargo ship.
The ship led him to the eastern coast of Alderford, and he stowed away on a train that brought him to Alderres. Within a few days of being there, he discovered that his father had died in the war. He had nowhere to go and barely spoke English.
Town Request;; Alderres, because I plan for him to be adopted by Alex Torres and Mackenzie Martin.
Role-Play Sample;; Oh God, oh God, oh God. Ackley was going to drop something, he was going to fall, he was going to do something to make himself look stupid, he knew it. He hurried down the hall, a tower of books in his arms, sandwiched between his hands and his chin, obscuring his view. And if he didn't get them all back to the library before it closed, his English teacher was going to get in trouble, which meant he was going to be in trouble.
Ackley kept close to the wall, hoping that anyone who saw him would just wise up and keep out of the way of the teetering beanstalk. It didn't occur to him that anyone would be sitting in the hall. His foot caught on something - a leg - and he lurched forward, the books cascading onto the floor in front of him, followed by a large, squirming bundle of clothes.
Unsure what he was this time, the creature just clawed his way through the clothes, upward toward the light. Huffing and squeaking, the little white-flippered penguin clamored its way out of the neck of his shirt, looking thoroughly irritated.
