He already had gone to the hospital to submit the papers that they said he needed so that he could start working soon. Work already? He just got there. It wasn’t like there were any neurosurgeries that he needed to do. how many people actually needed neurosurgery on his first day? He shook his head as he made his way through the dock and looking at the house as the very end. It wasn’t that big like the mansion he used to live in but it was big enough. It looked very well designed and very well ventilated. To think that a wrath demon had taste. He smirked to himself. He came all the way to Carford to face Shane Archer Mills, his biological father. Moreover, Blake was going to make him take responsibility. That was for sure.
Blake stopped and placed all the bags he had on the foot of the door. This was it. It was now or never. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door. He knew someone was inside since he could here noises from the inside. Probably from the kitchen. It was Nearly dinner when he came. The hospital had too many questions which Blake found very unnecessary. He shook his head on concentrated on the task at hand: facing his father for the first time. He knocked on the door, twice as he was taught. Then he waited. The waiting part was the a bit nerve wrecking because he could here noises from the inside and footsteps coming to the door. Here it was. Blake was going to meet Shane now.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Shane decided that it was best that he did come home early. The sky didn’t look so good and it looked like it was going to rain. He left his jacket on the sofa and headed directly to the kitchen. He stared at the fridge for what seemed like forever. He didn’t know what he wanted to cook. And he knew that he had to eat this time. He listened to the silence of the house. It didn’t use to be like that a few days ago. Bree usually came home around seven in the evening and just in time for dinner. Then he would ask how her day went and they would have a decent conversation and it would have a few laughs in between. But because of that one night, Shane’s house was empty once again. He sighed as he opened the fridge and took out the frozen chicken. It wasn’t as frozen as he thought it would be. And that was a good thing. Then he took out tomatoes, garlic, onions, and other ingredients from the pantry. He made a lot of noise since everything was a bit overflowing. He knew he had to cook more and not shop more.
Then as he was slicing the onion, a knock on the door came. He wondered who it would be. He knew it wasn’t Bree, She still had the keys to the door and if it were her, she would just have gone in. ”I’ll be right there.” he called out and washed his hands. He took off his apron and walked to the door. He could sense that whoever was outside had no violent intentions. He opened the door and saw a boy standing there on his doorstep with bags beside him. Shane raised a brow, ”Yes? Can I help you?” he asked as he examined the boy. He looked familiar. Like someone Shane knew before. But she was a woman. He waited for the boy to speak.

Blake looked up at the night sky, it was going to rain soon. Well, it would if he would allow it. Which he wouldn’t. But the weather can wait. He heard someone call from the inside. Well, that sounded like a man’s voice. Hopefully that was from the very man he came to see. Then the door opened and he looked at a guy who didn’t look like he was old enough to have a twenty-two year old son. But then again, he was a demon. They were ageless. Blake stood up straight, looked Shane directly. ”Good evening. I’m Carlisle Blake Vandecamp. I’m looking for Shane Archer Mills.” he said. Thought Blake already knew that it was Shane he was facing, he had to be polite. He was going to be imposing soon enough anyway. He smirked inwardly. He was going to turn this demon’s world upside down. Just like he had done to his mother when he left her after he got her pregnant.
”I’m Amelia Reynaldi’s son. I hope you can still recall the name. You met her probably nearly twenty-three years ago.” Blake hoped that he didn’t have to explain much. He hated to give details. Like when he was about to go to surgery. He didn’t like to give facts about a patient’s survival percentage to the family. He was there to do surgery, not give out a probable explanation. He was an excellent surgeon. He always did his part well. It always ended up with the patient if he/she wanted to keep on living or now. Blake didn’t have the power to decide whether they live or die.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Shane wondered who the boy was and how he knew this was where he lived and how he knew his whole name. As far as Shane knew, everyone just knew him as Sir Mills or Sir Shane. He doubt anyone even knew of his second name. He nodded, ”I am Shane Archer Mills. What can I do for you?” he asked, trying to come up with a logical explanation why someone this young would be looking at him. He didn’t seem like he was from Carford even. Then before he could say anything, the boy said he was Amelia Reynaldi’s son. Amelia Reynaldi. The first of the three women he had met twenty years ago or so. Well, nearly twenty-three years ago according to the boy. He ushered the boy in and carried his other bags and placed them by the foot of the stair. ”Have a seat. I’ll just change clothes. I’ll be right down.” Shane said as he went up the stairs. This was strange. What did Amelia’s son want with him?
While changing, a few theories had popped into Shane’s mind. First, Amelia must have died and she must have left the boy alone. But if she died, why would the kid look for him? So scratch the first theory out. Second, the boy was having issues with his mother. Again why would he come to Shane? And how the hell did he find him? It had been nearly three decades since he last saw Amelia. He left a week after Shane had created enough chaos in England. Amelia and her family were the only once that Shane did not destroy since he had liked her and had grown attached to her back then. But things are different now. He sighed as he shook his head. There was no right theory that made Shane see the logical side in all of this. He came back down and sat across the boy. ”I do not know what to ask you first. So, how did you find me? Second, what brings you to Carford? And third, why did you come to me?” he asked him as he leaned back on his armchair.

Blake studied the man’s facial features when Blake mentioned his mother’s name. So the man still remembered her mother then. That was good. And he was saved from answering the first question. He came in and took off his scarf and walked into the living room. When Shane instructed him to have a seat, he simply nodded and watched as the man disappeared up into the stairs. He looked around and saw that the man indeed had been busy. The medals, certificates, and trophies on the wall and shelves spoke of how much Shane loved the glory and attention. He sat on the sofa and looked around. The house was beautiful, even if it were small. Well, he did live alone so there was no need for a big house. He looked out and saw the rain clouds coming nearer. He looked away, if it weren’t going to be any trouble, he could just let it rain. It wasn’t as if it weren’t normal. Rain was normal.
Then Blake heard footsteps coming down and saw Shane coming back and still looking well dressed in comfortable clothes. No wonder Blake was the way he was. He obviously got it from Shane and not because he had so much money that he could buy anything he wanted. When the man sat across him, the questions began. He simply nodded and took a deep breath. ”To answer it on order: I hired a private investigator to look for you. I must say it took him three months to confirm that you are a Carford resident. Next, I came here to take care of some business. And lastly, that business if you. I came to look for you and make you take responsibility for me. If you still haven’t figured out who I am. I am Amelia’s son to you. And you can’t say that it’s not true. I am a nephilim and my mother married a human. And the man she married cannot bear children. So I am obviously from you. You met up with her a week before her execution to that man I had to endure my whole life.” Blake answered seriously. Now that Shane knew who he was, what was he going to do now? One thing was for sure, he couldn’t send Blake away.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Shane listened intently to the boy’s answer. The boy was a bit cold. Formal. So much like Shane at times. Then he said what Shane thought he heard. ”I beg your pardon? Did you just say that you’re my son to Amelia? She got pregnant?” He was in shock. Surely this boy was mistaken. Amelia would have said something. Well, how could she if Shane had left a week later without a goodbye. He sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. This was not what he had expected to happen. Well, he didn’t expect anything at all. He wanted a quiet evening. Shane had that just before this boy came. ”What was your name again?” Shane asked. He wasn’t able to pay attention earlier since he was a bit distracted. Just as Bree left, another one came. And this time, it was a ‘son’ of his. Shane’s was now convinced: his life just got a hell lot worse.
Shane stood up as he needed fresh air. He opened a window panel to the let the cool evening are come in and cool him down. How was this possible? Shane was an instant father. Great! Just great! How was he going to explain this? Sooner or later someone was going to notice. And he knew that thepeople he worked it was going to find out about this. He turned to the boy, ”Alright, let’s say that I believe all this. What do you want me to do? I can’t actually send you back now. You seem like you've packed up and expect to actually move here.” Shane said. This was just crazy. Was Heaven that mad at him that it was making his Earthly stay crazier than it already is?

Blake took a deep breath and sighed. ”My name is Carlisle Blake Vandecamp. Or if you really want my real name, its Carlisle Blake Mills. But then again, my adoptive father took the role that you were supposed to have filled. But then again, it shouldn’t have been a surprise that you left my mother. You’re a wrath demon. And by the way, I can manipulate the weather.” he said as he waved away the cloudy skies and showed a bright and starry night sky. ”And yes, I said that I am of your seed. Is that too hard to believe? Besides, what would I get for coming here and playing a childish trick on a man who my mother had met before I was born? First of all, I grew up with everyone waiting on me hand and foot. Why would I leave that all behind for a few minutes of laughter? See my point?” Blake said as he crossed his arms.
Shane was standing by the open window panel, the cool night air was indeed refreshing. And then Shane spoke once again. Blake couldn’t believe this. Wasn’t he listening to what Blake said earlier? Apparently not. ”I do not know whether being on Earth too long made your mind think and process information slower but I shall repeat my intentions once again for you benefit. I came here to make you take responsibility. And yes, you can’t send me away since I’ll be working at the local hospital here as a male nurse. And that means I shall be staying here while you decide whether to be the father you never were to me or not.” Blake said confidently but with no smirk. He was challenging Shane. What would this man do now?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Shane pinched the bridge of his nose just before Blake decided to make the night sky all clear and bright. Well, he was indeed a nephilim. No human can actually do what the boy just did. Then Blake spoke and which was kind of pissing Shane a bit. How dare this little runt say that Shane ran off from what he did? He didn’t even know Amelia was pregnant. Well, no matter what happened then, past was the past. And this boy was here now. ”Watch your tone and language with me boy. I have yet to teach you why I have earned those medals on the walls that you looked at earlier. And I didn’t run away because I was a demon. Amelia knew I was living because my work was done. And she spoke nothing about being pregnant. So you have no right to judge or make such biased conclusions just because you know not the whole story about me and your mother. And another thing, I didn’t know she was getting married. She neither mentioned that or anything else. We speak not of private matters when we saw each other. We went out, ate, walked and talked about general things.” he said with a cold tone and a warning glare. He was beginning to see where this boy got his tone and attitude. But it mattered not to Shane.
If this boy was claiming to be his son, he shall have to prove it then. Then Blake said he was going to be working at the hospital? This was surprising. ”That’s interesting. For a boy to have grown up being waited hand and foot, your going to wait on patients, hand and foot. Good luck with that. And very well. Since cleary you have no place to stay in Carford, you shall stay here. But mind you I have rules and I advice you now to heed them well." He said as he went to the kitchen. ”Have you eaten dinner yet?”Shane asked from the kitchen. Now he was going to be cooking for two once again. Shane shook his head. A son. How the hell was he going to get out of this one now. If he tried DNA testing, it might just make everything surreal and prove that Blake was indeed his son. Amelia Reynaldi. How the hell did you manage to keep this from me?

Blake felt that he achieved the first step of his plans. Shane was going to let him stay. But when the man spoke again, Blake felt fear for the first time in his life. This man was not the type that Blake could easily crush. No, Shane Archer Mills was no man. He was a demon. A wrath demon. It was going to take more that childish wishing to make him crumble. And Blake nodded when Shane spoke of rules. No reason to piss the man off so soon. Blake was going to do it slowly. He was going to make Shane’s life turn one hundred eighty degrees. When the man spoke of how ironic it was that Blake’s job was going to be the opposite of what he had been used it, it took Blake a huge level of energy to not retaliate back. He wanted to. So what if he grew up the way he did. He came out right. Yes, he was a going to be waiting on patients. But that wasn’t a bad thing. Besides, if it came down to it, Blake really didn’t need to work. But he knew that he couldn’t just spend all his time in the house. He didn’t want to just spend the day in town doing nothing. So he took up a job. It wasn’t like the hospital looked busy.
Then Shane smirked and went to the kitchen. This made Blake sigh in relief. Surely this man was going to be Blake’s toughest challenge. And he was determined to crack Shane Archer Mills. Blake then heard what Shane asked. Come to think of it, Blake had not eaten lunch either. He sighed, ”No I haven’t had dinner yet. I wasn’t even able to have lunch earlier as well. The hospital took my whole afternoon away and upon coming here, it took me a little time since it was not within the city.” he stood up and went to the kitchen as well. Shane was going to cook dinner? This was going to be interesting. A demon cooking. Blake wondered how well his cooking skills were. If it were bad, Blake was going to make sure that he would have to eat out before he came home from work.
