Rancho gave a concerned look but deep inside, he was raging mad. This guy's boyfriend thought of harming Silver? Rancho wouldn't let him even get close enough to even say 'hey'. And he saw you get hit by a car? Well no wonder he was angry. You have to understand that as a protector, its his responsibility to make sure that you are safe and unharmed. It must have been like hell that he had to see you. Glad that your alright yet still... Why would you have resorted to such a grave decision? Did you not know how it would affect the life of the person who cares for you?" he asked out of curiosity. Whoever this guy was with had to be crazy to have swallowed what this guy attempted to do.
"I know not what troubles you both have gone through but may I suggest that you remember them and see how much you two have gone through together and yet here you both still are? You must count yourself lucky. To have someone beside you who loves you and would do anything to protect you is everyone's dream. To wake up each morning beside the one they care for the most and be there for them when they need a shoulder to lean on." Rancho said as he looked out the window. He was beside Silver, he loved him. Yet Silver knows not of how he feels. Rancho protects him. Keeps him safe and is there when Silver needed a shoulder to cry on. But he knew that he was just a friend and nothing more.

Alex bowed his head slightly. He didn't feel proud of what he'd done. But he hadn't expected Mack to be there and fucking witness it. He was meant to have gotten hit, heal and wander home. Alex doubted he would've even done it hadn't he been a Healer - his goal hadn't been suicide. "I... don't even know why I did it. Impulse, I guess." The teen whispered, looking away and out the window.
"I know I'm lucky... luckier than most. So much happened in my old Academy before I got stationed here but... I-I just..." Alex swallowed as his voice broke. He laughed mirthlessly and covered his eyes with his hand. "Fuck... I'm such a girl." Because, yeah, he was kinda talking to a stranger in a café and trying not to cry. He was so... pathetic. Alex drew a shaky, open-mouthed breath, still hiding behind his hand. "I just thought things would be different, y'know? And... I've already fucked things up. Mack says its fine but I know he's not going to fucking trust me any more. I've never been good with fidelity. I was... a fucking... a-a... fuck... but, y'know, it took me a fucking long time to get him to trust me after all the shit I put him through. I thought I'd changed and---" Alex cut himself off and looked nervously at the man he'd just spilled his soul at to. He swallowed and began to sort out his hair, the buttons on his vest... anything to keep his hands occupied. "Sorry... didn't meant to... yeah. Just got a lot on my plate and work isn't exactly helping."

Rancho listened well. He was going to either miss lunch or have a shorter lunch break. This was far more interesting. This guy was spilling his beans on him like they had known each other for so long. Which was strange since they just met now. Well, not really. Rancho still didn't know his name and Silver doesn't remember him at all. Maybe Rancho won't mention anything to Silver at all. It looked better that way. "You know, people fuck up. It happens. shit happens. But you have got to remember that that's what makes us different. We learn from our mistakes even if we had done them too many times. And I can tell that it was not your fault. Whatever had happened to you must have been out of your control. So don't be so hard on yourself." Rancho said.
He took a deep breath, who knew giving a serious advice was this heavy. But he knew that it was what this guy needed. "Remember that everything happens for a reason. And even if you don't see it that way now, sooner or later you'll look back at it and say 'I've learned from that mistake'. You start each day anew. Take every day as if it were your last. Life would be more colorful and fun for the both of you. Challenges happen. But if you two work it out together, it'll be more meaningful when you come up with the solution. Because you both found it together." he said with a smile. An honest and sincere smile.

"It was my fault." Alex mumbled, his slender fingers wrapping around the ceramic cup, letting the warmth expelled from it be soaked up by his skin. The teen brought it up to his lips and took a calm sip, his seemingly placid demeanour only ruined by how his hands trembled. "He seduced me. And I fell for it hard. I didn't exactly try to stop him when he kissed me." Alex pursed his lips together at the memory and washed it down with more coffee. "I knew he was coming onto me but... fuck, it was just so weird."
Alex reached for his Blackberry and glanced at the time, his lunch break was going to be over very, very soon. He was tempted to call in and say he was sick-- oh wait... that excuse didn't work for Alex. Being a Healer, he never got sick or anything like that. Maybe he'd ring in and just say he needed the afternoon off to rest (and wallow in his thoughts) because all the energy he'd used recently had caught up to him. That sounded better. "I thought we had worked it out though. But, I guess... Some people never change, y'know, they just stay the same way."

Rancho was a bit confused. "You speak of change yet you see not where you are now. You're a puzzle that is harder to solve, young one. You do not see where you are now, who you are with and what you both had one through. If you have, you would not have spoken like you have not changed at you." Rancho pointed out. It was sad that the youth no longer could see 'the bigger picture' of life. And this guy in front of him was the perfect example. Rancho had been trying to tell him all along but he was not getting through at all. Then he changed his look from soft to serious. This was the real Ranchhodas Chanchad.
"Let me give you a valuable piece of advice that I live by and has gotten and kept me alive this far. Here it is: If you don't like yourself, then find ways to kill yourself. That way you won't have to bother with mistakes and consequences. But if you love yourself, you'll suck it up, find ways to correct them no matter how fucking hard it is. Because life is a bitch and will always be bitch." he said with a nodded. "I knew someone who had the power to revive themselves even if they die. After trying so hard, she gave up. she called me over one day along with a few other people I knew as well. And she asked us to kill her. It shocked up but that was the way she wanted it. We told her no but she slit her throat in front of us. We knew that there was no turning back for her. We each killed her. Her neighbor electrocuted her while she was being drown. Then she turned to me. I was the last. I burned her alive and watched as my sister died in my hands. Life is what we make it, sir. You can choose to be happy with it or to be sad and better off dead." He said as he looked away as he wiped a tear.

Alex listened to Rancho's tale with slight horror. He'd.. killed his own sister? That was... a pretty big thing to tell a stranger. But then, sometimes, talking to someone you have no ties whatsoever with was more liberating than discussing the delicate subject with your closest friend. Strangers were impartial and saw things for how they were. Alex wasn't too sure what to do but he swore that he saw the glistening of a tear. Cautiously, Alex outstretched his hand towards the older man and gently brushed his fingers down his arm soothingly. There was barely any contact, but enough to show that Alex was there.
"I don't think I'd be able to kill myself. Ever." The teen finally muttered. "I might be upset over how things have snowballed but... never enough to be capable of that. Even if I were I doubt I'd do it. I'd be leaving so many people behind." Mack, his mum, his twin and his friends. But most of all Mack. That was why such drastic measures were totally out of the question. Maybe... he'd go surprise Mack in the Academy. Make him something at home and bring it to him while he was in class change. Alex had to stop lingering on things that had already passed. The only thing that made the past continue to exist were the memories of it but if you let go of them, it was as if whatever had happened never occurred. "Stop calling me "sir", Rancho. I'm probably a decade younger than you... just call me Alex."

Rancho was shocked of the gesture but he just smiled. "Then I have done what I aimed to do then. To have you see 'the bigger picture'. And I am glad that you are able to realize it before lunch is over." he said as he smiled and readied himself for a 15 minute lunch break. He looked down at his watched and smiled. This was never going to reach Silver's ears. And Rancho was going to keep it that way.
Then he nodded at Alex when he said his name, "Then I think its time for me to take my lunch. It was nice to have had this conversation with you, Alex. See you around, yes?" he said as he stood up and headed for the door. And just before he left, he turned to look at Alex once again, "I'm twenty-eight by the way. Just so you know." he said as he left Jitters and headed for the restaurant for free lunch.
