Chase wasn't sure why he wanted to go to the water today. Maybe he was feeling more peaceful ever since his encounter with Brent the other day. They had fun... but Chase hadn't heard from him again after that night. It was kind of a weird night for probably both of them. Or... maybe just Chase. Sure he had done a few one night stands in his time, but never had he... held the guys hand before they fucked or anything else that happened that night. It had been fun... and Chase got along with Brent. They both loved music.
So maybe he just wanted to come here to relax. Either way he found himself sitting on the sand only a few feet from the water. His knees were lifted up slightly and his arms were draped around them. His feet got occasionally splashed when he let the water drift up enough to cover them, but it never hit it butt. He made sure of that. He was glad he had enough control over the other elements to be able to do things like this. Small things of course. He was by far better with Earth. He would have left the city to go into the forest if it wasn't so late. The sun was about to set. He was in a peaceful mood anyways. The water relaxed him even more. He didn't think there was anyone around either. Which made things better. He knew he should leave soon before he was forced to walk home in the dark and end up running into someone else. He didn't think all people in this town were as nice as Brent was.
He put his palm facing the water and started making a rocking motion with it. Making the water move it a weird way before he saw the water move with it. He pushed the top of his hand upward and caused the water to go up with it. Small water, he had control over this. He just wished it was Earth. Then he could do wonders. He could protect himself. Cover himself. Everything he wanted. Truthfully. He didn't want either at the moment. He wanted Brent's hand in his own, but he wasn't sure why.

Bree wasn't really sure why she'd gone down to the beach that day. She hadn't really been feeling too many negative emotions, and it was normally because of these tht she came to places like this. But the beach seemed like such a beautiful, tranquil place to be. The soft azure waves lapped the powdery sand with a light 'whoosh' which always made Bree smile. It was such a lovely noise to hear. A calming, soft, beautiful sound.
She slid her bag off of her shoulder and placed it carefully down on the soft sand next to her, and sat back, her legs extended in front of her, letting the water lightly touch the tips of her shoes and eventually kicking them off to let the salty waves actually come into contact with her skin. She shut her eyes, and just let her thoughts and feelings flow as freely as the water did.
So much had happened recently. She'd lived in Carford for three years, and she was suddenly meeting so many more people than she had before. Sure, it wasn't like the island was deserted, but still. And Brent. He was still alive. And a demon now. How that worked out, Bree wasn't quite sure. She knew how it had happened, but...she still didn't get it, for some unfathomable reason.
And then there was her whole problem with Shane. How much danger had he put her in by telling her...things? Things that she wasn't allowed to breathe to another living soul? She didn't know. Hopefully not so much that she could get hurt. Or killed or anything. Just...not too much. Hopefully.
She could feel herself starting to tense up, beginning to freak out. No, that wasn't her. She wasn't one to freak out. Bree was always one to keep a level head and a positive view on any situation. She just had to think optimistically. Of course Shane hadn't told her anything that could get her killed. That was a bit of an overreaction.
She saw a guy a little further up the beach. He seemed to be so deep in thought, maybe even in some kind of trance. She could have sworn he was frozen to the spot by something or other until he lifted his palm to face the water, and began using his powers. Okay. So from that, Bree could tell that he was either a Water Manipulator, a Fallen or a Demon. Most likely one of the latter two, as he didn't really seem to be doing a lot with it. Water was Bree's preferred element, so she knew what 'a lot' was. Sure, she wasn't bad at all the others, but she loved water, and always had.
He just seemed so reserved. And quiet. In fact...he kind of reminded him of herself. Before she'd ever met Adam. Just a quiet little thing, alone, rather shy maybe? Whatever. He seemed pretty deep in thought, though. Maybe...she could talk to him? Yeah.
She got to her feet and slowly wandered over, giving him a grin as she did so. "Y'alright there, honey?" she asked him, sitting down next to him. Not too close but not too far away either. She flicked her blonde hair out of her face as the wind stirred up a bit, and pushed her glasses (which she rarely wore) a little further up her nose. "Can hear you think from across the beach."

Chase jumped slightly when he heard a voice from beside him and then saw a girl sit down. That was... well. Weird? Scary? Chase didn't think she looked like someone he should be afraid of... but he didn't exactly like strangers. Then again... he went and was comfortable around Brent almost right away. Why should this be any different. Even though that was his thoughts, he still went and smiled at her. She looked like someone that deserved a smile in his eyes.
"Yeah. I guess I was thinking rather loudly."
Chase laughed and tore his eyes away from the girl to look back at the lake. "It's gorgeous, isn't it? I personally prefer Earth, but water is what I go to when I'm in a sort of daze. It always ends up like that." Chase told her with another smile as he turned back to look at her. She was gorgeous too. Her eyes were nice and almost loving. Chase didn't think he would have to worry about her doing something bad. "I'm Chase Jackson." He introduced himself as he stuck his hand over to shake hers. Chase was proud of himself. He was going to meet two people within a few days. He had kind of been alone on Earth ever since he fell. Especially since he turned into a demon. Even though he was basically far from a demon. He wasn't mean. He hated violence. He was a crappy demon. Strangely... he liked it that way. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bree chuckled softly to herself as the guy jumped bit on hearing her voice. He'd been lost in his own little world, she was pretty sure of that now. He'd looked a little surprised, actually, and Bree wondered why that was. Was it just that her arrival had been pretty sudden? Or was their some other reason? Probably the former. It was just the way that he kind of snapped back to reality after she'd spoken. She smiled at him. "Yeah, you were thinking kinda loud," she said, a small laugh underscoring her words. "Don't have to be telepathic to sense that. But you know what? Don't matter. It's good to think sometimes. Y'know, when you can."
She nodded in agreement, smiling out at the pastel blue waves licking the shoreline. "Yeah, it is gorgeous." she said. "I'm better with Water than I am anything else. So I'm basically always here." And that was true. Whenever Bree could get some spare time, she'd either be at home writing music, out with friends, or, yes, down here by the beach. Just watching the waves come in and out. Sometimes messing around with her powers.
She looked at this man properly for the first time. And...well...he seemed just adorable. She couldn't help but grin slightly. Sure, he may have looked a little rough around the edges, but nyeh. Bree thought that it actually suited him. His eyes were so blue, and they were so, very, ridiculously pretty. Come on. Who couldn't find that cute?
She nodded again as he explained that he favored the Earth. That was a good one. Being a florist, Bree understood why that would be a good power to have. A beautiful one, at that. "Yeah, I get that. You and me; we're kinda reversed. I'm a plant-daze-thing sort of person, but I love water." She snickered quietly. It was odd that they both liked the same elements, but for different things.
She took the hand that he'd extended to her carefully, and shook it. "Bree Ripsen." she said. "That's my name. It's nice to meet you, Chase." She gave his hand a warm squeeze and smiled softly. Yeah, he reminded her of herself A.A. (Ante Adam) quite a lot. He just had that kind of air about him that Bree found quite sweet.

Good to think? Chase supposed to some degree it was good to think, yet in other aspects it was a bad thing. When Chase got thinking, normally flashbacks of his past came to his mind. He didn't like remembering what he had gone through in the States. It made him wish he never fell from Earth in the first place. He wasn't good enough. He wasn't good enough to be on Earth. He should have been up in Heaven where he was supposed to be. Dealing with the grief of what he was born with. That should have been his job. Not down on Earth. He had no place here. "Thinking can be bad at times as well."
She was better with water? Did that mean she was a demon? No... she didn't look like one. She was a fallen that fell from Heaven. She had to be. "You're a fallen, then?" Chase asked, even though he was pretty sure of the answer. "I just feel like... when I surround myself with the Earth. Nothing can get me there. Maybe that was one of the reasons I fell from Heaven. I didn't belong there." Chase thought out loud. Not caring about the fact he didn't know her. "Bree is a pretty name. Matches the girl." Chase told her with a smile. To some... it may seem like he was flirting. Too bad Chase didn't swing that way. Basically never have. Gay and proud. Bree furrowed her brow slightly at Chase's words. Well, wasn't he a pessimist? She understood just fine, though. Most of the time Sometimes, for Bree, thinking was a bad thing. It just led back to the past, something which she just could not seem to let go of, no matter how much she hated it. It was part of her, and she kind of accepted that. It made her who she was. No matter how much she disliked who she was, it had made her that way. It wasn't that she disliked herself. Just...didn't value herself.
"Well, yeah, I guess so..." she said. "Depends on what you think about, doesn't it?" She gave a cursory roll of her shoulders, and a smile tugged at her lips. It really did depend on what the thoughts were based upon. For example, for Bree, dwelling on her past was a bad thing. It seemed like such a stupid thing to happen, what happened to her. But the good things? Well, they were music, arts, plants, stuff like that. Just the small, day-to-day things that seemed to make life that much sweeter.
She nodded slowly. "Yeah. I'm a Fallen." She shrugged once again. "I don't really like to talk about it, though. It's...the past." She looked at the sand, slowly beginning to trail her fingers through it, making patterns with the tiny grains. She really hated dwelling on the past. It just made her feel depressed, more so than normal, and...it just wasn't good.
She looked up, and nodded. "I get that." she said. "I get what you mean entirely. Water...it's like...the only thing on earth that's really...constant. Y'know. Pretty much everything is dependent on water. And that...I dunno...it always used to interest me. So...I practiced that one." She looked out at the ocean in front of her, a small smile on her face.
Her head snapped back around as he said his next words. ...Pretty? She'd heard him wrong. She hadn't felt anything...but she had to have heard him wrong. That wasn't quite right. Even if she were pretty, she wouldn't have believed she was for a second. It just wasn't in her nature to do so. "Uhm. Well, uh...thanks, I guess." she said, inwardly cursing as she felt an idiotic blush creep across her face. "Chase is a pretty cool name too. Suits you."

Figures she was still a fallen and not a demon. Chase was tempted to not tell her he was one... but he didn't feel like hiding it. He wasn't one to lie normally and he wasn't about to start with some random girl that he didn't even know. ”I'm a demon now. I changed about six years back. I lasted ten on Earth as a fallen though.”
Chase told her with a sad smile. He wouldn't tell her why he turned. No one knew and he was pretty sure no one would know. He was fine with that. Perfectly fine with that. He looked out at the water. He got what she was saying. Everything needed water, basically. It was an interesting though. Everything needed the Earth as well though. Without the Earth... there would be no people. Well... Chase supposed they could live up in Heaven... but he wasn't sure everyone would want to. Then Heaven would turn into Earth and God would make something else, he figured. Either way... everyone needed the Earth. The blush on her cheeks made her look even cuter, Chase though, but he didn't want her to think he was some creep or anything. ”Don't worry.... I'm not like hitting on you or anything. I'm actually gay. Hope you don't mind that.” Chase told her with a small smile. Most people didn't mind gays now... but you never knew. Chase was a Demon. Well, Bree had kind of had the suspicion that he was. Not that she minded one bit; her best friend was a Demon of Wrath. She was kind of used to that now, though it still sounded slightly strange to her. She never thought she could be friends with a Demon; not after what had happened with Adam, and then with Brent's family...but she had. And she had grown strangely accustomed to it. "Well," she said, fiddling with the arm of her glasses slightly, "10 years is a long time to last, y'know."
She gave him a warm, friendly smile. Some Fallen hadn't even managed 5 years before they got changed. 10 years was a really long time. Bree had been on Earth for 3, but she was determined not to let herself get changed, not to let anything get her down to that level. She couldn't afford to go down the road that so many before her had; she refused to let that happen. No, she would remain a Fallen of Honesty, no matter how much pain life brought her. No way would she ever become any kind of Demon.
She laughed slightly nervously when Chase appeared to be explaining his actions. He wasn't hitting on her. Well, Bree had already figured that much out. he didn't seem like the type that would randomly hit on a girl on the beach. And he'd sort of maybe had a gay vibe to him, too. Of course, Bree was completely fine with that. So he needn't have worried. It was just...pretty? Nope. "Uh...'s fine," she said. "Why would I mind? I'm just...not used to being called...that. I never really believed it was true."
