Dane accepted the kiss with a smile. He didn't think he would ever grow tired of waking up in Mori's arms, and being greeted awake by kisses. It was so adorably cute that Dane never wanted them to stop. He felt the hand on his stomach and a faint smile played on his lips. Mori hadn't done anything too far, and sometimes Dane thought it wasn't enough. He didn't have much time to dwell on that as Mori leaned back in and kissed him again. These kisses didn't last long enough for Dane, but he would deal.
What did he want to do today? Well... Dane wasn't entirely sure. But he knew what he should do and figured Mori would be more than happy to do it with him. Mori was just awesome like that. Dane smiled still, this one having a bit more depth to it. "I have an idea... Let's go out. I don't care where... Just let's get out for a afternoon or something." Dane muttered, trying not to make too big of a deal about it. He wanted to get better for Mori. "But maybe after staying in bed for a bit longer."

Moriel tried to subdue the intensity of his pleasure at Dane's suggestion. For his antisocial friend to suggest leaving the lighthouse was not only unexpected but also a very, very good sign. It meant he was trying. It meant he wanted to improve. And for him to want that was what they'd been trying for since Dane arrived at the lighthouse. A grin crossed his face and he kissed the other man firmly. "Yes. I think that's a wonderful idea," he agreed, eyes lit with excitement as he cupped Dane's face in his hands.
He laughed at the next comment and nodded. "Yes, I could do with some more relaxation time as well," he agreed. The angel leaned in, one wing arching over them, the tips of his feathers brushing at Dane's legs through the blankets. He kissed him more slowly now, wanting to show just how happy he was about this turn of events. "Besides," he murmured against the nephilim's lips, "we can't exactly do this outside." He pulled the other man close against him and enjoyed a long, languid embrace. "Well, not without drawing some unwanted attention, that is," he added with a smirk.

Dane was glad Mori seemed to like that idea. He was even more glad when Mori kissed him again. The smile faded and he kissed him back. Letting Mori take control. He felt the wing at his side and thought of how much he had grown accustomed to that over the week or so. He liked the feeling of the wings around him when they were kissing like this. he liked the feeling Mori gave off in general. It was that of security and almost... love. Dane needed that and it was that reason alone that Dane was perfectly fine going out in public today. He wanted to. For Mori.
Whenever Mori stopped to talk, Dane made sure to get enough breath, but also playfully nipped at the moving lips. He had gotten comfortable with Mori. That was for sure. He could be himself around Mori and not be afraid of anything. Mori was his security. "Definitely not." Dane mumbled back with a slight smile as he kissed Mori again. He hadn't grown tired of it. He hadn't decided to be disgusted by it. He liked Mori and that was his final answer. It wouldn't change and he didn't want it to.

If they were going to take their time to relax in bed, Moriel wanted to make the most of it. They made out lazily for a while, which he enjoyed thoroughly. The angel's hands skimmed along any bit of bared skin they could reach, feather-light touches that offered but never insisted.
Even though they hadn't done much, he had still managed to work out a thing or two about his new bedmate. His ribs were sensitive, and so was the base of his spine, if he traced soft circles just above the hem of his pants. Dane made these cute little gasps when Mori caught his earlobe between his teeth, not nearly enough to hurt. He also knew that if he touched the man's abdomen any lower than his navel, things would heat up too much, and he would have to back off.
So he satisfied himself with little taunts here and there, enjoying the reactions he was teasing out of Dane. No, he wouldn't push, but that didn't mean he wouldn't want, wouldn't trace that jaw with his lips and think utterly unholy thoughts about the body in his arms. Before too long, he found himself getting a bit worked up, pulled back for a breath, to regain his composure.

Dane wasn't sure how long they had been at it, but he didn't want to move. Ever. He wanted to stay there in the bed with Mori for as long as they possibly could. He wanted to get tangled up in him and laugh and giggle and gasp at the small things he did. He wanted to feel Mori's hands on his body, and wanted to touch wherever he could reach in return. He didn't want to stop. Mori was being so careful not to push things past what Dane wanted to do, but for once he wanted to do just a bit more. He wasn't ready for all the way... but he didn't just want to stop.
He took a few breaths to catch up, but didn't move away from him. He didn't have any intention on it. "M-Mori... don't.. just... no." Dane muttered probably incoherently but he hoped Mori would get what he was saying. He wasn't entirely sure how to make full sentences at this point. He was... what was the word. Well. He just didn't want to stop and knew where the next step of this was going at this point. He didn't want it to.

At first, the angel thought Dane was trying to tell him to stop. "Don't" usually led one to such a conclusion. But then Dane was gasping and still reaching to pull Mori toward him and his stomach did an odd twist. No...he couldn't mean...was he really ready for that? Mori had his own reservations, fears of pulling Dane too far too fast into something he wasn't ready for or maybe didn't really want. Still, he had to remind himself and respect that his partner was a grown man and perfectly capable of making his own decisions.
"More?" he asked, voice low and lusty. "You want to do something more?" His hand found its way down Dane's chest, fingers stopping in the fuzz below his navel as he studied the man's expression. If he showed any sign of hesitation, Moriel would stop in an instant, but if he did want this, he had no intention of holding them back. "We can stop whenever you want," he murmured. "If anything makes you uncomfortable, anything goes too far...just tell me, promise? I want to make you comfortable." He pressed his lips light, reassuring, to Dane's collarbone.

Did that mean Mori understood what he was getting at? He sure fucking hoped so. When he tried to reassure Dane that they didn't have to, he just rolled his eyes playfully. If he didn't want to, then why the fuck was he asking. Good ole Mori and his morals. Dane smiled and let Mori kiss his collarbone. "I'm sure. I'm not going to break or something." Dane told him, mirth in his voice. He was glad he could talk now that Mori understood what he wanted and didn't reject him or something. He was happy with Mori. He liked Mori. Why wouldn't he want to do something more than a heated make out.
Dane smirked at Mori from underneath him and pushed his hips up against Mori. He wasn't shy when it came to sexual things. Well... he never used to be at least. He was slowly getting more of his old self back. It'd come within time. At least... that was what Dane kept telling himself. Mori kept saying it too though, so that must mean it was at least someone true. Or... there was a good possibility. Dane wanted it now... that had to mean something.

His reassurances given, Moriel felt his restraint stretch and give way. Hands grasped hips as he fitted his body against Dane's and caught his lips again. He allowed himself for the first time to let his excitement be known as he rolled his partner onto his back, grinding down against him with a smirk.
"Alright then," he agreed softly. "In that case, there is something I've been wanting to do for you." It was one of those fantasies that had been appearing unsolicited in his mind since their romance had started. The angel shifted his wings so they could slide under the blankets, lying flat across the entire width of the bed. Once they were no longer an obstacle, Mori moved down beneath the covers.

Dane would be lying if he didn't admit to himself that he was at least a bit nervous. He had never even though about a guy the way he thought about Mori... yet here he was, completely ready to do something with him. He wasn't going to back out. He wanted it just as much as Mori seemed to. He let Mori move him and waited for him to get comfortable with his wings. Those hips... yeah. He wanted this. He wanted this and he wasn't going to let Mori say anything otherwise. Not that he would... he seemed to be perfectly fine about this whole thing. Like he was waiting.

Dane was pretty sure he hadn't felt this good in a while. He had a smile on his lips and he was breathing hard. All the while making sure his hands were gripping onto a part of Mori. He was pretty sure he wouldn't let go of him for a long time. If they were going to go out today, Dane wasn't leaving Mori's side. That was kind of a given no matter what... but even more so now. "Yeah. Definitely wanted that." Dane joked with the angel.

Moriel moved back up to lie beside Dane, reflecting the man's grin on his own face. "Good, because I had been looking forward to it," he agreed. He had no intention of letting Dane reciprocate just yet. They had time to get there - one step at a time. The angel kissed his lips and his brow, and then sat up, glancing around the floor for his slippers.
"Ah," he murmured to himself as he located them just under the lip of the bed and slid them on. He paused and looked out the window contemplatively. He'd spent a generous portion of the previous night contemplating a phone call he'd gotten the day before. Now that the course of action was starting to solidify in his mind, Moriel decided it was time to explain the situation. "Before we go out," he said, "there is one thing I wanted to talk to you about." He pulled on his dressing robe and sat back on the edge of the bed.
"I got a call yesterday, from a nurse at the elder care facility at the edge of town. My great-granddaughter Ida has been living there for quite some time now, and I have been visiting when I can. In any case, she's had several strokes and they've placed her on hospice. She's not expected to last much longer. I think she would prefer to die here, with family, so I'm considering moving her in until her time comes."

Dane didn't bother getting up out of the bed yet. He watched Mori with a smile as he looked for his slippers and put his robe on. Dane would have liked it better if he didn't put anything on... but knew that would probably never happen. He gave Mori a smile when he said they needed to talk about something. Dane cocked his head in confusion and let Mori speak. His great granddaughter was in the hospital? Well that was sad... Dane's smile faded as he waited for the end of what Mori wanted to talk to Dane about.
It didn't click with him fully until after Mori had finished talking. One. His great granddaughter? Not his granddaughter, or daughter. His great. That... she couldn't be that old then. But two, she had strokes. Well fuck... Most kids didn't have those. And she had been in an elderly home... How old was she. "How old... is your..." Dane stopped and coughed awkwardly. "Great granddaughter." Dane finally got out and asked. He wasn't sure... should he feel awkward about this? His great granddaughter was older than he was... and he was with him. Surely there was something wrong with that.
It didn't click with him that it seemed like Mori was waiting for an answer. "If you're asking me if I mind or anything I don't... I'd uh. Love to meet more of you family. It's your house anyways, remember?" Dane knew Mori had a lot of relatives... he'd have to be stupid to not know that. But it just clicked with Dane that he didn't even know how old Mori was... Sure Angels never died or anything, but still. He should know that right. Then maybe it'd be nice to know how many relatives Mori had... Or... maybe he didn't want to know that.

Moriel watched the realization dawn on Dane's face and nodded, showing he understood the surprise and discomfort. He had expected as much, he was used to such reactions. "Ida is ninety-two years old. She's had a long life. I know it must be strange for you to think of, but that's how it is for my family. She's the great-granddaughter of myself and my eighth wife, Dane." It was a hard thing for most people to fully comprehend, but he would rather Dane get the shock out of his system now so that it didn't make him uncomfortable later.
He sighed and reached over to press his palm to Dane's cheek. "I know," he agreed, "but I wanted to make sure it was okay with you nonetheless. I want you to feel like this can be your home, too." The angel's thumb brushed along the man's cheekbone. "I'm afraid she won't be much to meet at this point. She used to be quite the character, but she can't talk anymore, really. I'll have a room made up for her on the first floor. She'll have a nurse, too, I suppose." Moriel smiled softly and looked toward the window.

Eighth wife. Eighth fucking wife. Mori was joking. How many wives had he fucking had in his lifetime?! Dane tried not to freak out. That would be bad and he didn't want to make Mori sad or anything. It wasn't like... age mattered? Dane was twenty something... and Mori was... older than he had previously thought. That was... he didn't know what that was. He swallowed hard and looked at Mori when he put a hand on his cheek. He could do this. He liked Mori. He liked him and he was worth this... He just had to keep telling himself that.
He gave Mori a gentle smile, and put his hand on top of Mori's on his cheek. He used his other hand to move his face to look back at him. He could do this. Be strong. "I do feel like that, Mori. I do." Dane told him before kissing him gently. He knew that Mori must have been through a lot of family deaths if he had eight or more wives... but still. It was probably hard for him. Dane thought at least... couldn't hurt to ask. "I'm sorry... that she's... you know. Does it ever get... hard? To know you'll always outlive them?" Dane asked in a small voice. He didn't want to ask it... yet he did.

The angel smiled into their kiss and wrapped his arms around Dane. He was taking this rather well, and Moriel was grateful. "I'm glad. And thank you for not...freaking out too badly. But if you need to a little, I understand. It's a lot to deal with for mortals." Seated beside him on the bed, Mori thought over the best way to go about the answer to this question. It was one he got often enough, but the topic never got any less delicate.
"When my first wife, Fazila, died, I was...inconsolable. I never wanted to get attached to another mortal again. It was too difficult. But in those times, it was expected that I remarry, and so I did. And I fell in love with her, too. 'Ilm bore me my first child, and when I held that infant in my arms...it all started to make sense." The angel smiled. "I fell because I loved the human race, and I needed to be among them, but I had only been focused on the middle parts of their existence. Birth and death are just as much a part of that beauty, and to be able to be with someone so long, to see that whole spectrum of being...I miss them when they go, but, more than that, I am grateful to have known them. It's why I came here, after all."
He sighed. "The greatest pain is when they die too young. Ida has had a long, full life. Her death will be a celebration, the completion of a journey. I am glad to share that moment with her." Moriel looked over at Dane, hoped his views were not too alien, too detached.

Not freaking out? It was seriously a good thing that Mori couldn't read Dane's thoughts. Everything was just.. so weird. He never even thought about being with an angel before. Then again, Dane never really had time to think about being with someone. He had basically known he was going in the military from a young age. They liked his power and made sure he knew how to use it. Too bad it didn't work right now.
Listening to Mori talk about his family like that... Dane never really looked at it that way. He was never really close to a lot of people. He always had a lot of friends when he was younger, but that didn't mean he was ever close to any of them. He understood what Mori was saying though. It made sense to a degree, but Dane thought that he would still be upset when one of his family members died. He didn't know if he would be able to see death after death and yet he could never die. He wasn't sure how Mori did it. "I guess that makes sense." Dane muttered, still kind of in awe about how old Mori really was. He reached over and held onto Mori's hand tightly. Mori was all strength, while Dane was nothing but weakness.
